Why do opponents of same-sex marriage, always say...?

First off I'm not gay... You have to remember that not more than 100 years ago many straight people were forced into marriage (and it still happens in parts of the world today, regardless of love). If you consider that fact, it may take some time for the gays to get the rights to wed. I personally am not against it at all, but there are many who are.
