How do I make my dog calm down?

Start training him during the summer. Work on him becoming an inside dog. Make your daily schedule as close to a college schedule as possible. Long walks and vigorous exercise at least 3 times per day. Get his peeing and pooping on schedule. Leave him alone inside as you would while at school. Work on his obedience commands. You may find obedience classes to be helpful. Dogs understand their role as companion and guardian. He will do it naturally.
