Android phone question..?

I have a samsung galaxy europa, a good phone which has andriod. I recently downloaded an app off 4 shared and now whenever i try modifying my widgets on my home page an error occurs and it closes. Also my phone has become much slower especially online. Is this a virus? What do i do?
